ABOUT THE ARTIST
Yana is a Hamburg-based artist whose work explores layered abstraction as a way to engage with emotion, memory, and the fluid nature of perception.
Known for her luminous, multidimensional surfaces, Yana gained early recognition through a distinctive body of spray-painted works - compositions built through a process of layering, blending, and obscuring. While her practice has since expanded to include a broader range of mediums and materials, the core of her approach remains rooted in tension between structure and spontaneity, control and intuition.
Her journey to art was not linear. For years, she built a career in tech - a path taken out of necessity rather than passion - that gradually suppressed her true identity. It wasn’t until several life-changing events that she returned to the part of herself she had buried: the artist.
Today, each piece she creates is layered with personal resonance and quiet complexity — shaped by structure, but driven by intuition.
Her work has been acquired by collectors across Europe and Asia, with pieces held in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Singapore, and South Korea.

Process
With simple spray paints, I arrange and combine colors in a three-dimensional, overlapping manner, creating the works that are rich in color and movement.
Technique
The layers of texture and color form a luminous, multi-dimensional effect that draws you in, almost as if light itself is sculpting the layers, revealing new depth with every angle.
Inspiration and Purpose
Layering reflects the soul’s complexity, tracing the accumulation of experience and emotion. My work gives form to this depth, revealing the quiet evolution within.
